In a small espresso cup, Zera downed a brown liquid, grown accustomed to its bitter taste. Seraph presumed it wasn’t actually espresso, but he was simply using the only conveniently sized vessel available. ‘Cough medicine?’
‘No. Double espresso shot.’
‘Before bed? You do know coffee has caffeine in it?’
‘It’s like tap water to me now. Helps me sleep’
Seraph didn’t know if she was impressed or horrified. At least it isn’t alcohol?
